Famous Author Quotes-Dr Maya Angelou On Love

Faithhopelove

Feature Chris Liu Upsplash.com

“Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.” Dr. Maya Angelou

I have understood that love in its purest forms will always accomplish its ends. It was quite startling for me, however, to realize that the word ‘love’, mostly associated with romance and that, as such, would be a weak and even vulnerable state. The one who is in love with another, whether it is reciprocated or not, opens themselves to being hurt. As such, I could not see this condition as a state of strength. Yet, if we consider the love of a mother for her child, now we have a vision of one would fight to the end to protect. I have seen similar situations, where the love of a fellow human leads to the same state of strength. It is when I think of these two examples that I am able to see that this type of love is selfless and therefore very powerful.

Famous Author Quotes-Danielle Steel On True Love.

True Love

Feature Photo by Gabby Orcutt Upsplash.com

“Lust is temporary, romance can be nice, but love is the most important thing of all. Because without love, lust and romance will always be short-lived.”

― Danielle Steel

As a youth, romance was a key issue in my life. Some years later I began to realize the truth of my romancing. It was simply a way of satiating the lust within me. So tight was the grip of lust that I found I became narcissistic and in some cases codependent on the various partners in my affairs. It took me far too many years to wake up to what true love was really all about. I came to learn that true love was about respect and trust; putting your loved one before yourself always.

Famous Author Quotes-JM Coetzee on Teach To Learn.

Teach

Featured Photo by Mishary Alafasy

“He continues to teach because it provides him with a livelihood; also because it teaches him humility, brings it home to him who he is in the world. The irony does not escape him: that the one who comes to teach learns the keenest of lessons, while those who come to learn, learn nothing.”

― J.M. Coetzee. (Nobel Prize Winner in Literature.)

Teaching others was the love of my life; I discovered, in teaching others I became masterful in my subject matter. Many of those that I taught unfortunately never learned. I often wondered why they came to the teaching sessions. There were those, that did learn, but never applied to their lives. I am grateful for those that did learn, applied and in turn, taught others. Then there were those that learned, taught others, and raised teachers among those. This was my truest blessing, grand-students! I have always believed that a true teacher is a teacher that raises a teacher among their students, who also raises a teacher. The cherry on the top for me is, I have lived to see it come to pass.

Famous Author Quotes-JK Rowling on Failed.

Failure

Feature Photo By Brett Jordan Upsplash.com.

“It is impossible to live without failing at something unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all—in which case, you fail by default.

― J.K. Rowling

It seems that from the time I started my first job, I always worked dreaming of something better. I was never satisfied. It took me about seven years to build up the courage to start my very first business. After two years the business failed. This was the first of four businesses, in all, that failed. I was a broken man but managed to find an activity that I really loved. It was this that saved me and set me on the road to a wonderful life. I can say for certain, I have enjoyed my life, every moment, even the heartbreaking times. I can state, I love the life I have lived and the best is yet to come.

Famous Author Quotes-Paulo Coelho on Never Imprison Love.

Love

― Paulo Coelho

“Love is an untamed force. When we try to control it, it destroys us. When we try to imprison it, it enslaves us. When we try to understand it, it leaves us feeling lost and confused.”

― Paulo Coelho

www,goodreads.com.

Paulo’s words are wise indeed and from these, we should all take care regarding this precious word, love.

I cannot remember ever trying to tame or understand the various experiences of love in my life, but there is every chance that I did. It’s possible, I might have tried to control and imprison love, although I cannot consciously recall doing this. Thinking about it, I can distinctively recall the feeling of romantic love. The love of my various family members along with the love of my fellow humans, these I recall quite clearly. Yet, love has been a mystery to me. A mystery that has to some extent become a little more clear in discovering that love comes in many differing forms.

The very best description I have ever read was from a passage of ancient wise words, and it goes like this: “Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

Weekly Words of Wisdom-So Much To Do.

To Do

Feature Photo by Elena Mozhvilo Upsplash.com

So Little Done.

“Tot Facienda Parum Factum.” “So much to do, so little done.” These were the last words of Cecil John Rhodes on his deathbed and the motto of my High School, Prince Edward. I have often become quite exhausted at the thought of all the things I would like to have done/would like to do in my life that remains unaccomplished. Maybe Rhodes died with the same view in his mind. The exciting thing is this. Rhodes’s many achievements and scholarships were accomplished and are still being performed today without his presence. I hope that it will work out this way for me one day. Do you feel the same way?

Peter’s Quote for the Day – Age.

Age

Feature Photo by Robert Thiemann Upsplash.com

Age.

Age has afforded me the most significant amount of no-cost experience. It is truly the best investment I have ever made (accepting all experiences I have ever had.) The beauty of this situation is, I am on a journey of never-ending experience. Everything I have learned in life was taught to me by experience. I think experiences of every sort, with no exception, must be a ‘Pearl of Great Price.” My age arranged it this way to improve my life and shape my attitude toward my fellow humans. Isn’t this wonderful?

Peter’s Quote for the Day – Uncertainty.

Uncertainty

FeaturePhoto by Lubo Minar  Upsplash.com

Certainty or Uncertainty?

In my life I find the only true certainty is uncertainty; certainty is this moment now, nanoseconds later it becomes uncertainty. The reason for this is because what I was certain of nanoseconds ago is past. Past is linked to time and as time is an illusion, the past certainty I had is NOW an illusion. I went to a store to collect supplies. Everything was as I was certain to find it would be.

The following week I made my usual trip to the same store and it was gone! For a split second, I thought I might be hallucinating. But there it was – gone. I noticed by this time, huge boards stating that we were going to have a brand new store in a few months. Point taken, what was certain last week is no more this week. As a result, I live with uncertainty as my certainty, and I’m comfortable with this state.

Peter’s Quote for the Day – Faith Hope Love.

Faith Hope Love.

After faith and love, hope is my all. The hope in me is unshakeable as I journey to my dreams. I steer my ship with faith and hope as my helm. I face every storm with a heart set like a flint, never wishing the storm to blow away, rather knowing, I will not fear. Another thing, as I journey I never pass by roses without drawing a deep breath from their petals.

Peter’s Quote for the Day – Fire.

Furnace

Fire of Refinement.

Strangely enough, gold is not in a pot at the end of the rainbow but is found in the furnace of life where it is being refined. You and I, the supreme creatures in the universe, are the unrefined gold. Nothing in the universe requires the furnace of refinement, except you and I. Makes you wonder about our purpose on earth, doesn’t it? I am deeply grateful to those in my life that gave me support and encouragement. Certain of these kindled in me a fire to walk a road of self-development. This is an interesting road, inasmuch as it has no final destination! In addition, it is a means of refining my character. As time has passed and I’ve accomplished both small and large achievements, my confidence has grown. I do not undertake a project with the end in sight, but rather, enjoying each step along the way. Step by step my foundation is strengthened and my confidence soaring. Hey-ho, before I know it, my project is complete. One down and a limitless amount of others to take on.
