Words-Peter’s Quote for The Day.

Words

Feature Brett Jordan Upsplash.com

Mind Your Words.

I learned to use words with sensitivity. Ancient scripture says, “The tongue has the power of life and death…” namely, what I say, has long term effects which I can never take back. The result is, I never engage my tongue without my sensitivity being in gear.

I never use large complicated expressions or popular jargon when speaking to others. If the purpose of speaking is to communicate my thoughts to my listeners, what’s the use of using these if they don’t understand?

Above all my discovery has been this; when I say something encouraging to someone else, they almost never react badly. It seems encouraging words are most times soothing.

Wisdom Snippets From Peter-Live a Full Life

Herd

Feature Photo by Andrea LightfootUpsplash.com

Four Wisdom Snippets To Help You love Life.

I never follow the herd, in spite of a traditional upbringing. Essentially, I am a free-thinker and an up-streamer. Have you ever wondered why you can’t follow the herd? The answer is simple; you are not a sheep, you are a free-thinker.

I am grateful to have discovered prayer and laughter have something common, in my life; they both make me feel happier after.

I trust the words of correction from a true friend, however painful; but words, no matter how sweet, from someone who does not love me are like kisses from an enemy.

Daily learning and accumulating knowledge are of vital importance to me. Yet I understand knowledge without wisdom is like a ship without a rudder.

Weekly Words of Wisdom-So Much To Do.

To Do

Feature Photo by Elena Mozhvilo Upsplash.com

So Little Done.

“Tot Facienda Parum Factum.” “So much to do, so little done.” These were the last words of Cecil John Rhodes on his deathbed and the motto of my High School, Prince Edward. I have often become quite exhausted at the thought of all the things I would like to have done/would like to do in my life that remains unaccomplished. Maybe Rhodes died with the same view in his mind. The exciting thing is this. Rhodes’s many achievements and scholarships were accomplished and are still being performed today without his presence. I hope that it will work out this way for me one day. Do you feel the same way?

Weekly Words of Wisdom

Earth

Feature Photo by Elena Mozhvilo Upsplash.com

What On Earth am I Doing?

I accept that my life is a very precious gift, for which I shall be eternally grateful. I am even more grateful my life has taught me so many useful lessons about living. Enjoying my living takes some of the mystery out of why I am here on this Earth. The inexplicable reason for my being on this earth has always driven me to search.

While I may have found many words written on how I must live my life on this Earth; there have been less by far of why I am on the Earth. The same source that quotes words on why I am on earth does not give me a definitive answer on going about that process.

Wisdom has now revealed to me that it is not life’s meaning that is so important, but rather the living of my life each day, knowing whoever has the reason for me being on Earth, is content not to define this reason in precise terms.

Yet there are many expressions like, …”do not fear… Be not anxious…the birds of the air… the lilies of the field…” and many others. Why don’t I follow the wise words and cut the stress? In which case, why raise the question of, ‘why?’

As a result, I now love living.

Why Write? – Part Nine

Please Note This Course is Completely Free of Charge

If you have just joined us, then you need to read previous editions in the series, you will find these here:

With each publication in this series, I was giving you assignments to do and asked you to return these to me for editing. This way you sent in your effort, which I called a ‘submission’ and I send back a ‘correction’ to you. In doing this, you ended up with a comparison.

If you have just joined us, you are free to submit the earlier assignments to us for correction, to help get you started.

Otherwise I have discontinued this routine for practical reasons.
