Idiosyncrasies-Wisdom Snippets From Peter.

Idiosyncracy

Featured Photo by Mpumelelo Macu Upsplash.com

If my personal idiosyncrasies draw scornful thoughts and remarks from others it becomes their issue, as it will hurt them more than it does me. Idiosyncracies are flags of character, don’t you think?

Now that I am a while past the three-score and ten mark I feel I have earned the freedom to enjoy my idiosyncrasies and funky dress.

Sometimes the other side of the custom coin is greed and vice.

I think it is important for all of us to dream of wonderful things happening in our lives; equally important is to be grateful for what we have, whilst we wait for these to eventuate. We all have lives, we don’t all live them.

I found that many things that I wished for, came to pass, but then so did many of those that I feared.

Dynamic Flexibility

A snippet from a cool blog site.

We are always evolving. Our daily circumstances change all the time. Every day is different. That is why our idiosyncrasy must be approached with dynamic flexibility. We should never be too structured nor too spontaneous. Imagine a river with two banks. On one side you have structure and on the other spontaneity. Our job is to make sure the river doesn’t flood on one side. Too much structure and you become rigid. Too much spontaneity and you wind up in chaos.

In the context of a family, this means you need to adapt all the time. You have your ideal structure for the day and your perfect bookends. But then life happens. You don’t sleep well and miss your morning routine. Your daughter throws a tantrum and you lose your calm. The truth is things will never go as we want them to. We have to accept reality and see how we can navigate it. After all, as Dan Siegel says “flexibility is the hallmark of healthy beings”.

Rainbows-Wisdom Snippets From Peter.

Rainbow

Feature Photo by Gerhard Kupfer Upsplash.com

Have you ever wondered why you can never catch rainbows? Heaven knows I tried many times. Finally, the truth hit home; rainbows always disappear as mysteriously as they arrive. The most wonderful part is though, I am always left with a strong sense of promise that better times are ahead.

The universe is ever moving, she breathes and sleeps as she moves. All within her must move with her there is no other option.

The trees bend in the storm because they know they will stand erect once again when the storm has left.

Actions I perform today, visible or not, may take many moons to reveal themselves, but reveal themselves, they will. This is a fact of life. This is Karma.

What goes around comes around.

We have all, at some time or other, heard or read the above proverb. I have no idea of the exact origins of the proverb. But it could have had some link to the ancient scriptures. Because these allude to the fact that what you sow, that you will reap. Surely this is commonsense to all of us. If I plant carrot seeds, I don’t expect to harvest apples, do I? included in the sowing and reaping principle, we have a graphic view of how the universe functions. Consider the theory of relativity, for example. Which says, in simple terms, what goes up must come down. None of us would argue the toss on this one, would we? So then, in short, however, we conduct our lives in this life will eventuate a return to us. Beneficial or damaging.

But this is not all. If I plant a corn pip, it would grow into a stalk, that will bear two cobs. If healthy and fat these two cobs can bear as many as two thousand pips! Makes you think, doesn’t it?

Lesson: Mind how you live your lives.

Calm-Wisdom Snippets -From Peter.

Calm

Feature Photo by Belinda Fewings upsplash.com

Seek to Be Calm

Mostly things don’t calm down next week, usually, they get worse. What is important though is how much you allow calm to affect you.

I am the sole analyst of situations in my life and decidedly the only one to do something about them.

If I allow myself to be brought into concern for my future, I become a slave to time. Now, as time is an illusion, I become, in truth, a slave to something that does not exist. Don’t you find that odd!

Wisdom came by me because I sought her; when she arrived, I had to be taught how to live with her. Now we are soulmates.

Truth-Wisdom Snippets -From Peter.

Truth

Feature Photo by Markus Winkler upsplash.com

Always Look for The Truth

There are so many things claiming to be truth, and I am left wondering if they really are the truth.

I wonder if what I see outside of me is always a certainty? So many things that are certain in this moment will be gone tomorrow.

I am grateful that I frequently escape the things the world calls reality and take refuge in the world of my dreams. Maybe this is why I feel so peaceful.

I find change to mean something unique to each one of us. What is a change to me might be routine to another.

Famous Author Quotes-Danielle Steel On True Love.

True Love

Feature Photo by Gabby Orcutt Upsplash.com

“Lust is temporary, romance can be nice, but love is the most important thing of all. Because without love, lust and romance will always be short-lived.”

― Danielle Steel

As a youth, romance was a key issue in my life. Some years later I began to realize the truth of my romancing. It was simply a way of satiating the lust within me. So tight was the grip of lust that I found I became narcissistic and in some cases codependent on the various partners in my affairs. It took me far too many years to wake up to what true love was really all about. I came to learn that true love was about respect and trust; putting your loved one before yourself always.

Famous Author Quotes-Paulo Coelho on Never Imprison Love.

Love

― Paulo Coelho

“Love is an untamed force. When we try to control it, it destroys us. When we try to imprison it, it enslaves us. When we try to understand it, it leaves us feeling lost and confused.”

― Paulo Coelho

www,goodreads.com.

Paulo’s words are wise indeed and from these, we should all take care regarding this precious word, love.

I cannot remember ever trying to tame or understand the various experiences of love in my life, but there is every chance that I did. It’s possible, I might have tried to control and imprison love, although I cannot consciously recall doing this. Thinking about it, I can distinctively recall the feeling of romantic love. The love of my various family members along with the love of my fellow humans, these I recall quite clearly. Yet, love has been a mystery to me. A mystery that has to some extent become a little more clear in discovering that love comes in many differing forms.

The very best description I have ever read was from a passage of ancient wise words, and it goes like this: “Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

Peter’s Quote for The Day.

Lie

Feature Photo by Pawel Czerwinski Upsplash.com

I have heard it said, “It’s only a white lie, it will not hurt anyone.” If truth is the opposite of lie, is there such a thing as a white truth? If there is such a thing, I think we are in for a spot of trouble, don’t you?
