Fork in The Road

When we reach a fork in the road ahead, we are forced to decide: Which road do I take? As surely as the sun will rise tomorrow, so will the fork in the road appear tomorrow. Often it appears many times in the day.

When faced with this decision, we have two choices; take the right fork, which is remaining on the same road with which we are familiar. And along this, we alternate between happiness and misery at differing times. Or do we take the left fork?. The left fork represents the road less traveled, the road of change and unfamiliarity. The road of the unknown.

At the point of confronting the fork and facing a decision, how do we decide? For the most part, we rely on our minds to make our decision. The mind, of course, has a voice. That voice is called ‘the ego.’ The ego is the voice of our bodyguard, protecting us from natural dangers, perceived failures, and potential embarrassments.

Wait, there’s more. There is within each of us another voice. The voice of God-Within-Me. This voice is always speaking. It is the voice of a true lifeguard, protecting both body and soul from any form of harm. It does not protect us from potential failures or embarrassments because it does not speak that language. Unlike the voice of the ego, G-W-M offers guidance, training, encouragement, and above all – never failing trustworthy friendship, available 24/7.

The voice of G-W-M is authentic; the voice of the ego is a bot manufactured by people and events outside you over your lifetime.

I have one life and one body in which to live this life. So I will live this life to the full, never defining myself by others and events outside of me. I will care for my life and my body. This I will do by acting on the voice of God-Within-Me.

Fate-Wisdom Snippets From Peter.

Fate

Featured Photo by Tim Mossholder Upsplash.com

What fate awaits us all, when this life is done? Above all, we are certain to die, sooner or later. By the way, this is an indisputable fact;  and still, none return to tell us about their fate. I wonder why?

My life is like a beautiful, never-ending dream; And it is such a joy, I never want to wake.

The need for daily moment-to-moment faith is a non-negotiable learning curve.

I wonder if this life of mine is a training course for a very much more advanced way of living?

If I look out on my surroundings, earth, the universe, I accept my mind has to enlarge to accommodate these.

I get the feeling that our Creator keeps a journal on every persons’ life. Not so-called rights and wrongs, but their joys, sorrows, successes, heartaches. Surely it is only this information that our Creator keeps in this journal?

Why Write? Part six

If you have just joined us, then you need to read previous editions in the series, you will find these here:

With each publication in this series, I was giving you assignments to do and asked you to return these to me for editing. This way you sent in your effort, which I called a ‘submission’ and I send back a ‘correction’ to you. In doing this, you ended up with a comparison.

I am now going to change the system. In future you will not send in submissions, but I will publish my version of the assignment a week later and that way you can compare what you have done with what I have written.

If you have just joined us, you are free to submit the earlier assignments to us for correction, to help get you started.

wisdom 2How many of us are looking for something?

Wealth, health, longevity, better looks, more knowledge, better employment, more successful business. These and countless others are on most of our shopping lists.

Have we any idea the extensive lists of motivation, training, coaching, education and self-help that’s out there, waiting for us to collect our share and drop into our shopping basket?

To say nothing of all the books, magazines, videos and such that are all offering:

Bigger, better, best….

But there are no offers out there to teach wisdom.

Ah yes there are those spiritual denizen’s who will lead you to the bible where resides much wisdom and in fact the only guide as to where wisdom is found.

But wisdom cannot be taught and whilst we can be wisely taught, we cannot Wisdombe taught wisdom.

Looking at history, we can come up with many names of people who were wise beyond their peers; just to name a few of these:  Mahatma Gandhi, Aristotle, Socrates, Solomon, Jesus of Nazareth, Gautama Buddha, Florence Nightingale, Ben Franklin, Albert Einstein, Nelson Mandela.

I doubt that any of these had graduate certificates on wisdom, yet they were, by any standards, wise.

The simple fact is that wisdom can only be found.

Where the is wisdom found?

Wisdom is found in our innermost being, where those that search for it, find it, listen to it and apply what it tells them to do in their lives.

There’s more…. A person who is wise attracts others; those who desire what the wise person has. These begin to seek and because the law says, “Seek and you will find” – they find it.

Imagine a world with only a quarter of its population filled with wise people….

Wisdom calls aloud in the street. She utters her voice in the public squares. She calls at the head of noisy places. At the entrance of the city gates, she utters her words: How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, and fools hate knowledge?”

Plan Your Way Out of Employment

career-planning-diagram

I went to a coach to try and get some direction in my life. During a lull in our conversation, I drifted off, as I often do; suddenly I realized that the coach was speaking:

She asked me quite pointedly, “Where are you just now?” “Describe it to me in detail” Whilst her voice was gentle, it was nonetheless firm and I received her question more as an instruction, rather than a request.

I responded, “I’m seventy two and was retired by my employer two years ago. They discovered my age by accident and told me I was an illegal employee. I was given a month’s notice and my leave pay.
