Wisdom Snippets From Peter.

Mountains

They lay together in the warmth of their spooned embrace; breathing slowly now, the embers of passion subsiding, she smiled with closed eyes as he held her close. Together they drifted to a cozy misty place of slumber. He wanted to remember that moment forever. Even in his torment of hearing, she had given herself to another; he wished to see her just one more time. Wisdom visited him in a dream one night, warning that should his wish be granted, his best memory would be traded for his worst. The day came when his wish was granted and he gazed at her from a distance, beautiful, happy, in the arms of another. He looked at her with grief in his heart. She turned briefly, looking into his eyes with no recognition of who he was; she lifted her face and kissed the other man. At that moment, his wish, his dream, had turned into a pillar of salt! In our lives, there is only one reality, an opportunity for enjoying love, peace, and joy in this moment now;  dreams of yesterday do not matter, and tomorrow does not exist until it becomes today. Seek only this moment in which you are living now.

If you keep peeling an onion, what do you have once it has all been peeled – a peeled onion. The important matter is this, did you enjoy peeling it, because it seems you are crying?

“Faith is the unconditional acceptance of something you are wanting has already come about, even though you don’t see it for the moment.

Very little of what you want in your life will come about if you do not believe in what you want in your life.

Mountains-Wisdom Snippets From Peter.

Mountains

Feature Photo Willian Justen upsplash.com

I have read, “Faith can move mountains.” The question I have is this, “Once moved, where do I relocate them? Most importantly I have discovered, moving mountains is one thing, relocating them is another.

I changed things in my life after a very meaningful lesson. To start with, every relationship I experienced over the years irrespective of whether it was business, life partnership, or friendships, needed support. Most importantly, they had to be founded on three pillars: Love, transparency, and respect. However, I must explain the word love and the context in which I use the word: Agape (Greek) means the love we have for our fellow humans. Fileo (Greek) means the love we have for parents, children, and siblings. Eros (Greek) Means romantic love.

We are made of all those who have built and broken us. (Atticus Finch Quote from To Kill a Mockingbird.) What if we are not so much built and broken by others as we are built and broken by how we respond to their building and breaking of us?

Grudges-Peter’s Wisdom Snippets.

Grudge

Feature Photo by John Bussell Upsplash.com

When I’m tempted to hold grudges; It calls for rearranging the thoughts in my mind. I make very sure the important thoughts are placed on top of the others. Next, I toss the grudges into file thirteen. Hey-ho, I’m ready to go.

It has become apparent to me that accusing others is a senseless activity. This benefits neither the accuser nor the one being accused. For this reason, I accuse no one, not even myself. Because the folly of blame, justified or not, is this: It is never a solution.

It is said, when I point an accusing finger at anyone, three fingers point back at me. The fingers say, “Energy waster!”

It is both consoling and gratifying for me to respect all my fellow human beings. To treat or think of others with contempt is more damaging to me than it is to them.

I am intensely aware of perceiving something to be what it’s not. Wisdom has taught me to carefully filter my perception in order for me to see things as they really are.

Kiss A Frog-Peter’s Quote for The Day.

Frog

Feature Photo by Wallace Heng Upsplash.com

Why Kiss a Frog?

Why kiss a frog, when Granny told you that you’ll  get warts if you do. Rather wait for a prince; there are a few around you know. Some really top-drawer ones too. I used to kiss frogs until I learned I was dependent on them for my security; my happiness. I was always disappointed in the end, because, as Granny said, I got warts. Warts of anger, jealousy, insecurity. There were quite a few others as well. At that point I learned about partnership. I used a salve called trust, respect and giving, to heal the warts of dependence. My skin cleared beautifully and guess what? Princes in their droves are queueing up at my door! I’ll never kiss a frog again.

Famous Author Quotes-Danielle Steel On True Love.

True Love

Feature Photo by Gabby Orcutt Upsplash.com

“Lust is temporary, romance can be nice, but love is the most important thing of all. Because without love, lust and romance will always be short-lived.”

― Danielle Steel

As a youth, romance was a key issue in my life. Some years later I began to realize the truth of my romancing. It was simply a way of satiating the lust within me. So tight was the grip of lust that I found I became narcissistic and in some cases codependent on the various partners in my affairs. It took me far too many years to wake up to what true love was really all about. I came to learn that true love was about respect and trust; putting your loved one before yourself always.

Peter’s Quote for The Day – Love the Greatest Value

Love The Greatest

Feature Photo by Tim Mossholder Upsplash.com

Love, The Greatest Value

I aspire to a higher way of living, not the generally accepted values of the world at large. Instead, values of love, honesty, integrity, compassion, and respect toward my fellow humans. Surely love must be the most important of these attributes, and yet, it is the least given. I have been working on this for some years now. Apart from affording me a peaceful life, I reap a harvest of blessings in addition.

A Tailor’s Shoppe

Per chance, there was a day, when as I went, I espied, that there were a tailor’s shoppe along the way.

Surely, I cried, this is the place that I should seek, to have those changes to my attire that I wish to make.

Yet, many a day did go by, that I passed that way and woe, remembered that my cloth at castle remained.

One day, I determined, on seeing the tailor’s shoppe, that I would return to my castle and collect my cloth, then to present my cloth to the tailor for repair.

So it is that I went into the tailor’s shoppe, with some foreboding for that which I should find.

Long Walk To Freedom

Nelson Mandela

The Autobiography of Nelson Mandela

“The Autobiography succeeds because the vicissitudes Mandela has gone through, in the course of his life, are so dramatic that the reader cannot help responding to them as if to a fairy tale or moral fable of some kind. No hero of legend ever went through such protracted trials to arrive at such an improbable victory” – Dan Jacobson, Daily Telegraph.

The book is the autobiography of Rolihlahla ‘Nelson’ Mandela, more endearingly known by his tribal name – Madiba.
