Peter’s Quote of The Day

Whose Boss in Your Life?

My life is very different from what it used to be. In those past years, my waking moments were ordered by my working moments; now working moments are ordered by my waking moments. It’s a much better arrangement!

Peter James

I love each new day; the advantage of waking up and finding I’m alive, and the fact that once again, opportunity calls from outside the covers. Its so worthwhile waking and having gratitude for being alive; because one day I will wake up and find I’m dead! On that day I shan’t bother to find out what’s outside the covers – I will know.

I am Author, Writer, and Blogger.

Whilst the titles might make me sound important, I am not. I love people and have a strong passion to encourage people and help them to love themselves.

Writing and publishing on my blogsite is simply what I do.

What do I write? Over the years I have published, short stories, Inspirational articles, poems, reviews of books, movies, restaurants and more.

Although of late I have focused more on ‘Words of Wisdom’ articles that invite people to challenge themselves as far as their self-development is concerned and these I publish weekly, under the title, “Weekly Words of Wisdom” on my blogsite: http://www.sirpeterjames.com.

Having had an excellent response to the “Weekly Words of Wisdom,” it makes sense to publish a daily, “Peter’s Quote for The Day,” in the hopes that you will, not only read it, but let the words be drawn into your very soul and finally, and most important of all – you will apply them to your life.

Weekly Word of Wisdom

Too Late?

At 78 years of age, I discovered myself; and the most significant thing was, I realized it wasn’t too late! Too late for what? Well, to discover who I am and what I was capable of achieving!

I don’t think anything in life can be said to be, “too late.” The expression, ‘too late, is linked to time  and as time is an illusion, there is no such a thing as ‘too late.’

Marrianne Williamson

Who says it’s ‘too late’? Why, your Ego of course. Who is my Ego? The Ego is the Bot in your brain,  whose job it is to ensure you don’t perform any actions that could harm you, or cause you to make an idiot out of yourself.

This Bot is wired with a logic that says, ‘What you don’t do won’t harm you right now.’ So, the surest way to stop you is to say, ‘It’s too late’ The result? You stand there watching the back end of the tube train disappearing into the tunnel of Lost Opportunity.

Weekly Word of Wisdom.

A Fork in The Road

Which Way?

“There is no tragedy in life, only a fork in the road ahead. Tragedy is no more than a fork in the road demanding a change of course in our lives.

A fork in the road demands we take one of three directions. Go back into the cave of our past, go right to continue without change in our steps, go left into the steps of change and opportunity”.

Dreams Are Good

I have a habit.

I love dreaming, not talking about the sleep kind, I’m talking about drifting off at various times in the day, whether it be whilst I’m working, eating, driving (be cautious Daydreamwith this one), eating and so on. Sometimes, embarrassingly,  I even drift off whilst in the company of family and friends. I believe the official title for this practice is, ‘day-dreaming’.

I can distinctly recall that this habit started, from the time of my best recollection of life’s experience, at seven years of age.

It got me into a lot of trouble in the classroom, my teachers said, “John is a dreamer, he is inattentive and lacks concentration”. The dinner table was much the same experience.

So where does an avid dreamer go, when they disappear off the radar and go into that mysterious place of ‘dreaming’? You may recall the lyrics from Peter Sarstedt, who asked the same question:

“But where do you go to my lovelyPeter Sarstedt
When you’re alone in your bed?
Tell me the thoughts that surround you
I want to look inside your head, yes I do”

As a certified dreamer, I say ‘certified’ because a Psychiatrist diagnosed me ADD and on that day my personal dreaming gave me medical classification.

But for those who are serious about dreaming and are not put off in the slightest about medical labels, let me answer the question; where do I go to when I drift off?

I enter the fantastic world of creation. Where I am the creator of the script and direct the characters on the stage of my award winning play.

Mostly my creation has it’s outlet in writing; short stories (whilst I learn how to stretch them into novels), poetry, and reviews. But once I started to log my daily creativity in all its various forms and the flow of opportunity that moment by moment entered into my life, I realized, that creativity has no limits with me.

My conclusion is this: For all my life, I have been going into the wonderful world of creating in my mind and if this is ‘dreaming’, I don’t want it to ever stop thank you.

Slice of Life: It is just a game after all, right?

It is comforting to know, that young people are being given opportunities, via our universities, to freely express their discoveries in life.
What is important, in a world seeking peace, is that we are raised to not judge our neighbors on the basis of difference, whatever form it may follow, but rather to see opportunity and benefit in those differences.

Opportunity

Opportunity

Every single day, in so many ways, opportunities cross our path. Each time an opportunity happens to reveal itself you have (you guessed it) two choices.

  1. You take the opportunity and run with it.
  2. You let it pass you by.

Becoming the Person you want to BE – (Two)

Dreams 6

Following Your Dream

As I begun to “put pen to paper” (so glad I don’t have to go down that road anymore, as my handwriting is quite illegible, so much so, that my Mother, thought I would make a good doctor).

A little earlier, I read on my PNA desk pad, “Always invest in your dreams” So, why don’t we do just that – invest in our dreams….
