Christmas-Wisdom Snippets From Peter.

Cracker

Feature Photo by Deleece Cook upsplash.com

Sometimes messages of encouragement come to us with a bang. Consider the Christmas cracker; you pull, it bangs and hey-ho, out pops an encouraging message on a little piece of paper! Happy Christmas

Opportunities always seem to arrive tomorrow for me. This is quite beneficial, as tomorrow the fog would have lifted from my eyes and I will see them clearly.

I’m shocked to discover how many habits I have created in my life. Then I read that, thoughts are the mothers of habits. Little wonder I have so many habits, I must be an overthinker.

Never waste your time scratching around with old family documents, you never know what you might find. What if you discovered, even though your grandmother went to church every Sunday, she was a bank robber? Old documents are like old thoughts; best left in the attic.

Firstly, I find ‘To-Do’ lists work very well for me, keeping my life in a state of organized ‘chaos.’ Next, and just as necessary, I prioritize my list and do what is important first, then the urgent. I discovered, not all urgent matters are important. Now, this system really works for me. The given is, will I discipline myself to apply it?

Prosperity-Wisdom Snippets From Peter.

Prosperity

Feature Photo by Sharon McCutcheon Upsplash.com

In times of my prosperity, I should have lived frugally; But I didn’t and it cost me dearly. The cost was the loss of my prosperity.

I was raised to conform to tradition and norms, thankfully I escaped from that prison, although the road was very rocky from there – But I made it. The secret was, I never looked back (truth is, I was afraid I’d turn into a pillar of salt!)

My mother used this expression often, “Be careful.” But I later learned it is better to be wise than careful. In fact, wisdom allows me to take risks whilst being careful and she always does so at exactly the right time, every time.

I wonder if accepting opportunities into my life isn’t like a day-long drizzling. Which results in me complaining about it instead of gratefully accepting it.

Catch-Wisdom Snippets From Peter

Catch

Feature Photo by Vasily Koloda Upsplash.com.

My thoughts and actions are not the results of those around me, nor the characters the world idolizes. But rather the wisdom that is given to me to make my own choices.

I have come to the realization my dreams are controlled by my thinking. When I think success, I experience success. Whatever I think, I experience.

When someone throws a ball at me, what do I do? Catch it of course. Why then don’t I catch the multitudes of opportunities that are thrown my way each day?

I am the master artist in my life. Creating each detail into one magnificent art piece. This creation is not linked to money generation, but rather the quality of life.

Wisdom Snippets From Peter-Create an Oasis

Oasis

Four Wisdom Snippets To Help you Create an Oasis in Your Life.

My dreams have created an oasis in what was once a desert in my life.

Life’s best lessons for me have been the times I have made poor decisions and wasted opportunities by missing them. As a result I now make sure I decide wisely and am watchful for the right opportunities. This approach is working well for me.

I am a member of a single family – humanity. I am related to each and every one on the globe. I celebrate this fact daily.

From very young my father taught me to build things. Startup on anything for me was a challenge, but after I saw results appearing, to finish was a breeze. I taught my children not to look for results, but enjoy the journey. The memory of these journeys becomes a long-lasting fragrance.

Wisdom Snippets From Peter-Loving Life

Life

Feature Photo by Katarzyna Grabowska Upsplash.com

Five Wisdom Snippets To Help You love Life.

I have discovered that I learn so much more when I keep my mouth Shut. With my mouth shut, I am considered wise and loving.

I have a wonderful life as I take ownership of the hurdles I encounter journeying forward. These hurdles don’t belong to anyone else, they are mine. As a result, I am the master of my own destiny, having been given this mandate by God within me. I have truly found a loving life.

Each day brings new opportunities into my life and I am discovering how to identify them

Never whinge; winging is like bad breath – creates a poor image of oneself. Another thing, I never explain myself to others, it seems like a fruitless pastime to me.

I always try to put myself in other people’s shoes. Working from my shoes only limits my true perspective.I think the journey of my life is like climbing a mountain, along the climb there will be brief rests; I welcome these, but I must never linger there. To do so, would mean I will delay reaching the summit.

Encouragement

Feature Photo By Debby Hudson Upsplash.com

Seven Wisdom Snippets to Encourage you.

  • I experience opportunities every moment in my life. I pray for the sight to see them all and the wisdom to take hold of each one!
  • I am grateful that my life has blessed more than a few, so I will continue in this state.
  • My heart is the seat of my emotion. The love within in it longs to fill the souls of others.
  • I am not a captive to my environment, I create and innovate within my environment; and freedom flows from creating.
  • I always choose what works for me, this way I’m better equipped to help others choose wisely.
  • I have experienced loving and losing, but now I’m loving and winning, that’s better by far.
  • If I cannot welcome failure, I will not know how to welcome success.

Weekly Words of Wisdom

Change

Feature Photo by Brett Jordan Upsplash.com

Changing Attitude

Mostly, changes, in all their forms came about unexpectedly in my life. Some were dramatically quick, others so slow that I didn’t even notice until they were upon me. In particular small changes were often like this.

If I give some thought; changes that I liked, I accepted; changes that I didn’t like, I resisted. Yet, I recall that often the changes that I embraced, were, in the long run not beneficial to me, and changes that I resisted became lost opportunities. In other words, accepting changes  I enjoy was not always the right thing for me and similarly, those I resisted, because they did not appeal to me, would have been the better option.

What I discovered over the years was this; I am not always the best judge of what changes to accept and which to resist.

If I was to accept changes that came into my life without resisting, then I could in due course apply these changes, ultimately to my benefit. If I could not apply them to my benefit I would accept them until such time as I was ready to make other arrangements.

I think of recent Covid-19 lockdown regulations. Here was change affecting people on a global basis. As these changes were introduced by law, none of us could have resisted them, except under the pain of heavy fines. We all accepted the changes and began to adapt to the situation, awaiting a day when we could return to, at the very least, a semblance of our previous lifestyles.

Many of us started to work from home, adapting to being almost completely housebound and not enjoying the physical company of our fellow workers, family, or friends. Many were put off work, some were paid state benefits; airline pilots were painting houses, change was the order of the day in every phase of our lives. For the most part, it was, ‘adapt or die.’

I noticed at the beginning of this bizarre state, I resisted the enforced changes in my mind. But as time passed, I realized this attitude was fruitless and on the advice of several articles I read, relating to the subject of change, I did just that – I changed my attitude!

Knowing that I was helpless to resist the enforced changes I adapted to apply a different way of living, with a view to ‘putting a finger in the dyke’ until I could repair the hole.

I had no trouble sleeping after that.

Peter’s Quote of The Day

Opportunity
  1. I am grateful I have experienced many failures in differing ways in my life; but those failures never lasted. The opportunities that followed them have never ceased.
Peter James

I love each new day; the advantage of waking up and finding I’m alive, and the fact that once again, opportunity calls from outside the covers. Its so worthwhile waking and having gratitude for being alive; because one day I will wake up and find I’m dead! On that day I shan’t bother to find out what’s outside the covers – I will know.

I am an Author, Writer, and Blogger.

Whilst the titles might make me sound important, I am not. I love people and have a strong passion to encourage people and help them to love themselves.

Writing and publishing on my blogsite is simply what I do.

What do I write? Over the years I have published, short stories, Inspirational articles, poems, reviews of books, movies, restaurants and more.

Although of late I have focused more on ‘Words of Wisdom’ articles that invite people to challenge themselves as far as their self-development is concerned and these I publish weekly, under the title, “Weekly Words of Wisdom” on my blogsite: http://www.sirpeterjames.com.

Having had an excellent response to the “Weekly Words of Wisdom,” it makes sense to publish a daily, “Peter’s Quote for The Day,” in the hopes that you will, not only read it, but let the words be drawn into your very soul and finally, and most important of all – you will apply them to your life.

The Gravy Train – Part Two

Gravy Train

I finished off Part One, last week with this statement:

How do you make your lap available?

It’s a very simple process called, ‘looking for opportunities’. Once you embark on this process, you will be nothing short of astounded by the amount of opportunities that cross your path, almost every second of the day.

Slice of Life: It is just a game after all, right?

It is comforting to know, that young people are being given opportunities, via our universities, to freely express their discoveries in life.
What is important, in a world seeking peace, is that we are raised to not judge our neighbors on the basis of difference, whatever form it may follow, but rather to see opportunity and benefit in those differences.
