Famous Author Quotes-Paulo Coelho on Never Imprison Love.

Love

― Paulo Coelho

“Love is an untamed force. When we try to control it, it destroys us. When we try to imprison it, it enslaves us. When we try to understand it, it leaves us feeling lost and confused.”

Paulo’s words are wise indeed and from these, we should all take care regarding this precious word, love.

I cannot remember ever trying to tame or understand the various experiences of love in my life, but there is every chance that I did. It’s possible, I might have tried to control and imprison love, although I cannot consciously recall doing this. Thinking about it, I can distinctively recall the feeling of romantic love. The love of my various family members along with the love of my fellow humans, these I recall quite clearly. Yet, love has been a mystery to me. A mystery that has to some extent become a little more clear in discovering that love comes in many differing forms.

The very best description I have ever read was from a passage of ancient wise words, and it goes like this: “Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

Peter’s Quote for The Day.

Swans

Swan Soulmates Photo by Belinda Fewings Upsplash.com

As a young man, I rejected censure and lived for compliments, always criticizing others. I knew everything; now that I am an older man, and wisdom has become my soulmate, I know so much less. Wisdom has taught me never to reject censure or compliment; not allowing either to rule my life, not even for a nano-second. She has taught me to never criticize others, not even in my secret thoughts. My world is now filled with mystery, joy, and above all, peace.

Weekly Words of Wisdom

Earth

Feature Photo by Elena Mozhvilo Upsplash.com

What On Earth am I Doing?

I accept that my life is a very precious gift, for which I shall be eternally grateful. I am even more grateful my life has taught me so many useful lessons about living. Enjoying my living takes some of the mystery out of why I am here on this Earth. The inexplicable reason for my being on this earth has always driven me to search.

While I may have found many words written on how I must live my life on this Earth; there have been less by far of why I am on the Earth. The same source that quotes words on why I am on earth does not give me a definitive answer on going about that process.

Wisdom has now revealed to me that it is not life’s meaning that is so important, but rather the living of my life each day, knowing whoever has the reason for me being on Earth, is content not to define this reason in precise terms.

Yet there are many expressions like, …”do not fear… Be not anxious…the birds of the air… the lilies of the field…” and many others. Why don’t I follow the wise words and cut the stress? In which case, why raise the question of, ‘why?’

As a result, I now love living.

The Keeper

The-Lighthouse
The Keeper
By Marguerite Poland
The author is South African and the story takes place in and around the southernmost point in Africa, the south eastern coast of South Africa.
Who should read this book?
• Those that are interested in the history and mystery of lighthouses, of the many stories these tall concrete edifices could tell if they had a voice.
• Those that have wondered what it was like to be a ‘Keeper’, to live the solitary and often dangerous life of these souls.
• The romantics, like me, that have fantasized what it would be like to spend a year or so, with my partner, living in a lighthouse. Perhaps buying one and converting it into a guesthouse with a restaurant.
• Those that would enjoy an easy and uncomplicated read that has a mixture of mystery, intrigue, romance, sorrow and humor that magnetizes you to the place of wanting to know how it all turns out in the end.
