Wisdom Snippets From Peter.

Patience

Feature Photo by Samuel Wong upsplash.com

“Two mature ladies sat under a great oak tree on an old bench. “Do you live here?” The one enquired. “Five minutes down the road, ” the other replied joyfully, grateful to have someone she could chat with. “I have lived here all my life, she continued.” “Ever traveled to another country or city?” “Never was inclined to do that.” “Oh! Any reason if you don’t mind me asking?” “Not at all. I was born in this town, baptized in the church over the road. All my schooling was completed in the town and then I married the only man I have ever loved in the same church over there.” Any children?” “Yes, one son.” Is your husband in business?” “No, fully retired,” “oh!” Yes, he died just after our son’s tenth birthday.” “Oh, how sad, I am sorry.” “No need, at 19 years my son joined the forces in Vietnam and I never saw him again.” “That must have been a terrible shock for you. You poor thing.” “A shock, yes, but it didn’t leave me poor. I had a man who loved me dearly. He gifted me with his life and blessed me with a son. My son was a fine young man, a bright scholar, and a top athlete. He loved and cared for his mother until he responded to his country’s call.” The silence between them was broken when the other woman looked up at the oak tree, “Beautiful tree, love the shade it gives; I wonder how old it is?” She remarked. “Forty-six years, five months, two weeks, and three days, to be exact.” What! How do you know that?” “I planted the little acorn in memory of the only two men I have ever loved. It took a lot of patience waiting for it to grow this big, so I could fully enjoy its shade. You know the old saying, ‘Great Trees from little acorns grow.’ But there’s no mention of how long it takes.” Silence. The moment was almost sacred.”

“When I was young I did all the talking. Now that I am older I have stopped talking and begun listening. I am learning so much more.”

“When I address anyone I have four non-negotiables I require of myself. I speak honestly, respectfully, empathetically, and with an understanding of what the other is needing to hear.”

“I have two choices in the way I speak; words that will encourage others or words that will break them down. Whatever I choose, will leave me responsible for the outcome.”

Imagine-Wisdom Snippets From Peter.

Experiences

Feature Photo by Samuel Wong upsplash.com

Imagine if a genie appeared in my life and offered me a choice of any artistic gift I would desire. I know I would choose writing. Above all my experiences, writing has been the most fulfilling. The freedom of sitting down and climbing into the massive world of what I can imagine. Then to start tapping on the keys, watching the words form.  Finally, watching the birth of a story. It’s heaven.

The more I experience in my life, the more my Mother’s words return to me. She must have known something.

My experience has been; it’s not how long the road is, it’s a matter of how much you enjoy the journey.

Dreams are beautiful images to live with. Who knows, the day may yet come when they cannot be disputed.

I find that many experiences I have are like a treasure hunt. After searching I discover the benefits I gain are often as good as gold.

Master-Wisdom Snippets From Peter.

Master

Feature Photo by Philippe Oursel upsplash.com

I am a man who has a ship full of dreams and I am the wise master of this ship. Moreover, because I am the master I can steer my dreams where I will.

The principle of giving results in receiving, accordingly I shall give my life all I have to give. As a result, I will receive a state of abundant living.

My heart is filled with a treasure of enormous wealth. So no one will ever be able to take this away from me. While I live my heart remains within me.

The wisdom I have accumulated in my life took a long time to fill me. Now I have it, it is here to stay.

Although I experience daily changes, my goal is unchanging. To live a wonderful life, and this to the full.

My long life, like a deep well, has much to draw from, and it’s always cool and fresh to the taste.

Morality-Wisdom Snippets From Peter

Morality

Feature Photo by Philippe Oursel upsplash.com

Focus on Morality

Is Humanity served by high social graces, with low morality? Is it not better to have high social graces, with compassion for those who suffer; and have high morality as well? I wonder.

I learned in my life if I delay any decisions they go dimmer with the passing days. My decisions are much more effective when applied immediately.

If you believe that you are a created being, you should also believe that, in turn, your purpose in this life is to create. All of us are creative artists in one form or another. Some will paint, some write, others singing or acting. There are those that serve others in many differing ways. There are those that manufacture, farm, and countless others. What do you create?

I spent much time trying to find myself. Once I saw the futility of this exercise and, on the counsel of another, I took a new tack. Standing in front of the mirror, I addressed myself as follows: ‘From today, I am going to create a new person out of you.’  The results have been so encouraging

Visionary-Wisdom Snippets From Peter

Vision

Feature Photo by Tim Wildsmith Upsplash.com

Be A Visionary

I was a visionary from young, however in my earliest youth, I was not aware of the fact. Now that I have become aware of being visionary, it explains why I have failed so many times.

The trees bend in the storm, because they know they will stand erect once again, when the storm has left. Bend when you need in life’s storms, but stand erect soon as possible.

I have begun to wonder, has the word ‘motivation’ in all its forms become overused? In my case if I wanted to achieve or change something in my life, I would simply  desire it and dream it was mine. Hey-ho, it became so.

As a youth, I was very religious and went to church every day. I went because I was told God was in a box on the altar and I was very keen to meet God. The day dawned when I had a close encounter with God and was grateful to learn God was not in a box on the altar but within me; on that note I gave up on looking and began to enjoy what I have. I have never looked back since.

Idea-Wisdom Snippets From Peter

Idea

Feature Photo by Mika Baumeister Upsplash.com

Never Let An Idea Go

In case an idea becomes stifled in my efforts to apply it, I place it in a corner of my mind. There it awaits an opportunity to be revived – I never let go of an idea.

I live by the rules I set myself, also those I subscribe to. I do not live by any other. When it comes to laws, I obey.

I am never selfish, because selfishness is senseless behavior. What has been given me in this life, is only on a temporary loan; how I use what I have been loaned will have eternal outcomes. I always share what I have with others.

All die, even the strong. Death awaits all humanity. But more importantly, Life awaits each of us. Offering us her hand and to enjoy ourselves to the full. We will not leave this world until our allotted fill.

Wisdom Snippets From Peter-Create an Oasis

Oasis

Feature Photo by Sandra Gabriel Upsplash.com

Four Wisdom Snippets To Help you Create an Oasis in Your Life.

My dreams have created an oasis in what was once a desert in my life.

Life’s best lessons for me have been the times I have made poor decisions and wasted opportunities by missing them. As a result I now make sure I decide wisely and am watchful for the right opportunities. This approach is working well for me.

I am a member of a single family – humanity. I am related to each and every one on the globe. I celebrate this fact daily.

From very young my father taught me to build things. Startup on anything for me was a challenge, but after I saw results appearing, to finish was a breeze. I taught my children not to look for results, but enjoy the journey. The memory of these journeys becomes a long-lasting fragrance.

Wisdom Snippets From Peter-Live a Full Life

Herd

Feature Photo by Andrea LightfootUpsplash.com

Four Wisdom Snippets To Help You love Life.

I never follow the herd, in spite of a traditional upbringing. Essentially, I am a free-thinker and an up-streamer. Have you ever wondered why you can’t follow the herd? The answer is simple; you are not a sheep, you are a free-thinker.

I am grateful to have discovered prayer and laughter have something common, in my life; they both make me feel happier after.

I trust the words of correction from a true friend, however painful; but words, no matter how sweet, from someone who does not love me are like kisses from an enemy.

Daily learning and accumulating knowledge are of vital importance to me. Yet I understand knowledge without wisdom is like a ship without a rudder.

Peter’s Quote for The Day-You Never Too Late.

Too Late

Feature Photo by Aron Visuals Upsplash.com

It’s OK you’re Not Late.

I have come to understand that absolutely nothing is ever, ‘too late’ but rather, everything is always on time. There are some ancient wise words that say: “Everything on earth has its own time and its own season. There is a time for birth and death, planting and reaping…” I filtered this through to my own life and recalled how many times I have failed to take hold of opportunities; failed to respond to the calls of others and the list goes on. Does this happen in your life? I am teaching myself to respond to what I am easily able to do and to accept that which I’m not so easily able to deal with at the time. Above all, to be comfortable in what I am in a position to do or not to at any given moment. The result is that everything I do is just in time and I’m never too late.

Wisdom Snippets From Peter-Bend a Little

Bend

Feature Photo by Andrés Gómez Upsplash.com

Four Wisdom Snippets To Help You Bend a Little.

I see fear as a recipe for failure, but the good news is, I am empowered to beat fear and start over again.

Before I can change the world I must needs change myself. Looking honestly into myself, I find plenty that needs changing.

There have been many times I have had to bend to survive, fortunately, if I bend for too long, it gives me backache.

The span of my years is not in my control. What is in my control is how I enjoy them.
