Grief-Peter’s Quote for The Day.

Grief

Deal With Your Grief.

Grief has been a visitor to my life more times than I can honestly say I am comfortable. I found from my childhood recollections, the night was the worst; fear was my frequent antagonist .Now, in the experience of my adult life, the same antagonist visits at all times of the day and night. My comfort was coming to know that the antagonist has only one stage on which to perform – my mind. It is my mind that carries my loss, my loneliness, my grief. I decided; the stage of my mind belongs to me, I am sole director of all productions on this stage.

The antagonist is now barred from all performances. Besides, what the antagonist never told me was: “This too shall pass, and the best is yet to come.” A wise person once said to me. Don’t push your grief away, you must deal with it. I marveled at those words, but as is so often the case, I forgot to ask how this was done. Just at that point, the words of Eckhart Tolle came to my mind, “Observe the thought, then let it go .” Whenever a memory (a thought) about the beloved ones I’ve lost, comes into my mind, I observe it (even to the point of shedding a tear, or more,) then I let it go. Not only is this practice a relief, but it has also become a pleasant experience too.

Peter’s Quote for The Day-You Never Too Late.

Too Late

Feature Photo by Aron Visuals Upsplash.com

It’s OK you’re Not Late.

I have come to understand that absolutely nothing is ever, ‘too late’ but rather, everything is always on time. There are some ancient wise words that say: “Everything on earth has its own time and its own season. There is a time for birth and death, planting and reaping…” I filtered this through to my own life and recalled how many times I have failed to take hold of opportunities; failed to respond to the calls of others and the list goes on. Does this happen in your life? I am teaching myself to respond to what I am easily able to do and to accept that which I’m not so easily able to deal with at the time. Above all, to be comfortable in what I am in a position to do or not to at any given moment. The result is that everything I do is just in time and I’m never too late.

Peter’s Quote for The Day-Choose Light.

Light

Feature Photo by Allen Cai Upsplash.com

Live in The Light

All things which grow, seek the light, on finding it they flourish, whilst all things begin growing in the dark, there, they will never flourish. I look for light always. In the light I flourish, in the dark, I wither. As a child, I had terrible fears when I awoke in the dark, but with the light of the dawn, the dark and my fears disappeared. Now I say, ‘It’s best to live in the light.

Weekly Words of Wisdom Touch The Stars.

Stars

Feature Photo by Allef Vinicius Upsplash.com

I once lived among a range of mountains. As a man of the city, I had never experienced such a time of peace and calm. So much so, I decided to wake up at whatever time I was awakened naturally. As a result every night I went to bed at, on or about, eight pm. (The generator was shut down at that time and there was no light.) Each morning I woke up anywhere between two and four am. I climbed out of bed, always fresh, and begun walking. This was my time to walk and pray. I cannot remember times of personal prayer as these. They were most powerful for me. But there is more… It was winter and the mornings were crisp and clear. I often lay on a small groundsheet and prayed looking up at the glorious universe with its myriads of star-filled galaxies. Then it came to me. How marvelous is the fact that the glory of the universe and its stars always fills the sky with light. (In the city, we never saw this glorious sight, because it was obscured by electric light.)

What this means is, our world is never in total darkness! Because, once we escape the city light and rise above the clouds, there is glorious light.

Whatever darkness I may experience in my life at any given time, there is a promise. My world will never be in total darkness. When the moment is dark, I remember the promise. Drawing the curtains of electric light and clouds aside – there the glorious light shines radiantly.
