Wisdom Snippets From Peter

Love

Seven Wisdom Snippets to Encourage you.

  • I keep doing what I love, because love is the most infectious quality I have to give.
  • It is not always the case that we gain wisdom with age, but often it is found there.
  • Short-term greed brings long-term ruination!
  • Until I can accept all my fellow humans as valuable partners in my journey through life, respecting whatever differences lie between us, there will be no peace on my earth.
  • When circumstances threaten to overwhelm me, I revise my thinking about them; this way, I am never overcome by my experiences.
  • Now and again, I trust my instincts and do the unexpected. When I do this, it brings encouraging results. If it doesn’t, that’s a pity. But I would instead have trusted and not received encouragement rather than not trust and never get anything anyway.
  • I am grateful I broke with traditionalism early in my adult life. However, I was always an upstream walker in any event. For this reason, it was not difficult for me to leave traditionalism by the wayside. I saw that traditionalism attempted to define me.

Peter’s Quote for the Day – Age.

Age

Feature Photo by Robert Thiemann Upsplash.com

Age.

Age has afforded me the most significant amount of no-cost experience. It is truly the best investment I have ever made (accepting all experiences I have ever had.) The beauty of this situation is, I am on a journey of never-ending experience. Everything I have learned in life was taught to me by experience. I think experiences of every sort, with no exception, must be a ‘Pearl of Great Price.” My age arranged it this way to improve my life and shape my attitude toward my fellow humans. Isn’t this wonderful?

Peter’s Quote for the Day – Faith Hope Love.

Faith Hope Love.

After faith and love, hope is my all. The hope in me is unshakeable as I journey to my dreams. I steer my ship with faith and hope as my helm. I face every storm with a heart set like a flint, never wishing the storm to blow away, rather knowing, I will not fear. Another thing, as I journey I never pass by roses without drawing a deep breath from their petals.

Weekly Words of Wisdom Think Positive.

Positive

Feature Photo by Viktor Forgacs Upsplash.com

Think Positive?

I could never understand why so many people say, “Be positive.” How can I become positive? I asked myself.  With this, I went on a journey to find out how to be positive, but to no avail. I was exhausted. Sitting down under a tree, I fell asleep. I was surprised to hear a wee voice, with an Irish accent. “Surely it’ll be yourself you’re looking for? Never you mind about being positive.”

I awoke to recall the little green elf’s words (After speaking to local Irish experts, it was confirmed, I had an encounter with a Leprechaun!) Looking for myself I questioned, how do I do this?

I needn’t have asked the question, because I felt a deep change had taken place in me. Filled with new confidence, inner power, and spiced with an air of peace. I knew I had found myself.

Arriving at our local pharmacy, I greeted one of the assistants, who eyed me strangely saying, “Well now, you’re the positive one today Shaun.”

Aaah I thought, you found yourself and now you can say, I’m positive!

If you are trying to find out how to be positive, come to Ireland. Maybe you might have an encounter with a Leprechaun. The Leprechaun will tell you not to worry about trying to be positive, just look inside and find yourself. If you believe this, you will be astounded at the change in yourself.

Peter’s Quote for The Day.

Journey

Feature Photo by Clemens van Lay Upsplash.com

I used to say, with some level of exasperation, “My life is filled with problems.” Did I mean, ‘My life is filled with issues that challenge my journey?’ Maybe I need to face the journey of life with the view that challenges must be laid across my path. This is in order to strengthen my character and resolve. In addition, to keep me heading in the best direction. If so, the way ahead would be for me to accept that with every challenge there is a purposeful solution. This purposeful reason comes about in the right season. I should condition my mind to accept the journey of life to be beautifully paved with challenges. This is opposed to my life being a chaos of ‘unsolvable problems.’ Surely it would be a more satisfying way for me to live?

Peter’s Quote of The Day

bee drinking on purple flower
  1. I am happy to know that nothing in life is ever ‘finished;’ everything in my life is in a state of evolvement. Flowers give bees nectar and pollen. Bees pollinate flowers, allowing them to reproduce. I reasoned, if this process never finishes, it simply continues. If something continues, there can never be a destination in sight. If there is no destination, it is simply a journey. In that case, I will commit to focusing on every detail of my journey, I will adapt to change and love every moment.

I love each new day; the advantage of waking up and finding I’m alive, and the fact that once again, opportunity calls from outside the covers. Its so worthwhile waking and having gratitude for being alive; because one day I will wake up and find I’m dead! On that day I shan’t bother to find out what’s outside the covers – I will know.

I am an Author, Writer, and Blogger.

Whilst the titles might make me sound important, I am not. I love people and have a strong passion to encourage people and help them to love themselves.

Writing and publishing on my blogsite is simply what I do.

What do I write? Over the years I have published, short stories, Inspirational articles, poems, reviews of books, movies, restaurants and more.

Although of late I have focused more on ‘Words of Wisdom’ articles that invite people to challenge themselves as far as their self-development is concerned and these I publish weekly, under the title, “Weekly Words of Wisdom” on my blogsite: http://www.sirpeterjames.com.

Having had an excellent response to the “Weekly Words of Wisdom,” it makes sense to publish a daily, “Peter’s Quote for The Day,” in the hopes that you will, not only read it, but let the words be drawn into your very soul and finally, and most important of all – you will apply them to your life.

Failings are not Failure

Failure 3
Brett Jordan Avatar of user Brett Jordan Brett Jordan @brett_jordan @brett_jordan

The overriding failure in my life was seeing my failings as a failure, when, in truth, they were simply steps on the ladder of my ultimate success.

I turned my life around, simply because it wasn’t working for me. I woke up to the fact that the reason for this was; I was living in my past.

It is said; with age comes wisdom. I’m not sure if this is true as I recall asking for wisdom, and progressively, over the years I was aware of growing in wisdom.

Wisdom has revealed to me; I can learn from my past experiences, I can plan for the future, but I must live only in this moment now.

Not only did wisdom come to me, it also brought along its close friend, adventure. How I know this is, I started to become exceptionally curious. Curious about everything not only of myself, but the world around me. This led to many of the most amazing discoveries I began to make in all the different aspects of my life.

Failure

As a writer, I constantly crawl the net for information and am daily amazed at what I discover there.

Today’s technology has provided a mammoth library; the most dynamic ever established in the history of humankind. And, it’s largely free!

Along with this new experience, I began to practice self-development in many of its different forms; the discovery of me and how I can I improve myself.

Finally I established a daily routine of meditative prayer, meditation and mindfulness.

I never knew adventure could be both so exciting and interesting.

I see my life as ever-changing, each moment of every day and yet, the direction of my journey remains constant toward refining the relationship I have, the Spirit within me and I.

Thankfully, I no longer look to my past, as that door is firmly shut, yet I plan for my future, but above all – I live to the full in this moment now, there is no place like it!

Meditation Magic

Flying Birds Eye View

I love meditating and indulge myself daily in this liberating experience. This discipline has made a remarkable improvement in the area of my spiritual, mental, and physical strength.

I journey through my body, from the top of my head and on to the soles of my feet, using a homespun mantra of thanksgiving for the perfect health of every component in this precious body of mine.

From here, taking sound advice from my unofficial distance mentor, Eckart Tolle (‘The Power of Now.’) Who says that we should never chase the thoughts coming into our minds, but rather observe them, without becoming involved, I enter my meditative state.

“Meditation is the discovery that the point of life is always arrived at in the immediate moment.” – Alan Watts

My aim, with no pre-planned strategy in mind, is to silently drift, as clouds do ahead of the winds, in a yoga pose seated on the floor. I have no idea if the pose is essential to a deeper meditation or not, but at the very least, it does wonders for my posture.

More recently, in my meditation, I have taken to ‘flying’ in my body, sometimes only thirty or forty meters above the ground. Because I am invisible to the naked eye, I can observe, unnoticed by humans, animals, and birdlife, as they go about their daily activities. At other times I soar above the clouds and see the curvature of the earth below. I am grateful that I have sufficient ‘pictures’ in my mind to achieve all this. It’s so peaceful, relaxing, and above all – calming. I am slowly learning the art of ‘being.’

For me there are no rules, except to gain maximum from Eckart’s teaching, I steer myself into the now moment and discipline myself to remaining there.

Aaah, sweet bliss, I love this time, first thing in my day.

Weekly Word of Wisdom.

Self-Development

Little Brook

In terms of my self-development, I strive for the highest and even if I underachieve, I will still be higher than when I started.

I find self-development, for me, is not a matter of a destination to accomplishment, but more an exciting journey, where discovery is the order of every step. With each new discovery, there is a direction to new creativity within me. On this journey are the times when I create best.

I love creating, it is a powerful gift and deeply satisfying to my soul. My creativity never disappoints me, it springs forth from me like a gentle brook of crystal clear, cool water flowing down a hillside.

You ask, "Where can I find this creativity, I do not seem to have the gift of which you are talking?" It is waiting for you in the treasure box that's kept in your heart; and on a still moonlit night that shines through your bedroom window, if you look carefully, at the palm of your hand, you will find the key to the box. Open it and take your creative gift - its there, just for you.
