Peter’s Quote for The Day Are You Normal

Normal

Feature Photo by Belinda Fewings Upsplash.com

I have heard it said, “So and so’s behavior is not normal.” I wondered how to define the word ‘normal.’ The dictionary says: “someone who conforms to a type, standard, or regular patterncharacterized by that which is considered usual, typical, or routine,” I asked myself, does my behavior fit this description? A voice inside me said, Most definitely not!  I don’t conform to a type, a standard, or a normal pattern. If it is a scientific fact that every snowflake that has ever fallen on Earth is different, then what about the masterpiece of creation, humans; can we be an exception to this rule? Surely the answer to this must be no. Otherwise, how do we explain individual DNA? If this is the case, why do scientists seek to ‘clone’ humans? It appears to me that the only things that might conform to the definition, are robots.

Peter’s Quote of The Day

cropped-Druids-Glen-Two-1.jpg
  1. I never run away from the upheavals in my life, choosing instead to face them head-on; this way they never pursue me. A forest fire, once abated, does not raise its fury again for some years.

I love each new day; the advantage of waking up and finding I’m alive, and the fact that once again, opportunity calls from outside the covers. Its so worthwhile waking and having gratitude for being alive; because one day I will wake up and find I’m dead! On that day I shan’t bother to find out what’s outside the covers – I will know.

I am an Author, Writer, and Blogger.

Whilst the titles might make me sound important, I am not. I love people and have a strong passion to encourage people and help them to love themselves.

Writing and publishing on my blogsite is simply what I do.

What do I write? Over the years I have published, short stories, Inspirational articles, poems, reviews of books, movies, restaurants and more.

Although of late I have focused more on ‘Words of Wisdom’ articles that invite people to challenge themselves as far as their self-development is concerned and these I publish weekly, under the title, “Weekly Words of Wisdom” on my blogsite: http://www.sirpeterjames.com.

Having had an excellent response to the “Weekly Words of Wisdom,” it makes sense to publish a daily, “Peter’s Quote for The Day,” in the hopes that you will, not only read it, but let the words be drawn into your very soul and finally, and most important of all – you will apply them to your life.

Peter’s Quote for The Day

You Are Enough
  1. In my life, there are no ‘good old days.’ The word good is not in my dictionary, the word old is not definitive enough and days are simply that – days. My days are precious moments of which I say, “I love my life so much, I’m going to live forever; why bother looking backward?”The only past which interests me is people and events in history. I am fascinated by history.

The Vicissitudes of Life

barn-fire-forest-266422

“Oh! That the vicissitudes of life would come,

A preamble to a higher elevation

To worlds more real and dear

From whence we derive more virtue and pleasure!”

ENOCH JOHN

 Friday, February 15, 2008 *

I suppose that you and I would better understand the meaning of vicissitudes of life as mishaps, troubles and woes we encounter along life’s journey. Or maybe, simpler still, the ‘ups and downs of life.’
