Peter’s Quote for the Day – Wrong Way

Going Wrong

There’s No Wrong Way.

Do you have days when successions of things seem to go ‘wrong’? I set about publishing my daily quote this morning and found my wi-fi was not connecting. After much ado, I managed to get it up and running.  As I got into my site I ran into difficulties on the back end of the site. I repaired that and during my shoot, WhatsApp’s refused to let me post, because it had an altercation with and disconnected itself from my mobile! I pacified those two and finally published my post on the respective social sites. In times gone by I would have screamed some obscenities, slapped the wi-fi modem, my laptop, and karate-chopped my mobile. Skulking off to the kitchen, I would then pour a coffee to settle my rage. In line with my new discipline of assessing my thoughts before throwing a tantrum, I came up with this conclusion. First of all, the new dictionary I use does not have the phrase, “Things going wrong.” It has been replaced by, “Wow, what an opportunity!” I calmly set about the necessary maintenance with the word, “opportunity” flashing from the desktop in my mind. Hey-ho, what ya-know, Everything sorted, the shoot was complete. My coffee tasted so much better.

A House Divided against Itself – Part Four

Unity

Life returned to a sense of normality, which after two months was turned completely upside down.

It happened when the husband awoke  at two in the morning to find he was alone in bed. He called out softly to his wife and on getting no response; he got up and made his way through the house and on reaching the lounge he heard soft sounds like crying coming from behind the closed door of the study. He tapped on the door and made his way though. His wife was curled Husband Comfortingup on the big easy chair weeping. He reached down to her small, almost frail body and without a word, his big arms enfolded her and he gently lifted her off the chair and sitting in the chair he moved her onto his lap as he would have done with the smallest of his children.

Sylvia Rose’s Story – Part Seven

Dhubai Trip

The UAE was never ready for me

When the ‘almost husband’ invited me to come and spend Christmas with him in the UAE I was ecstatic.

Firstly because I have never traveled abroad. I know right, 46, and never traveled internationally! But the main reason was that I would get to spend five whole weeks with him all by myself! No children no work pressure NOTHING! Just him and I basically on a honeymoon.nd believe me Dubai, is the best place to spend a honeymoon (trust us to do things the other way round). And we have never had that kind of time alone in all the ten years we have been together. So it was a first time and a very exciting one at that.

A House Divided against Itself – Part Two

Unity

The trip to Australia and the stringent interviewing process, which was conducted over three, sixteen hour, days was a real eye opener for the Father and ended with him and two others being thanked for their attendance and participation. The three candidates were told that they would be notified about the results of the interview within two working weeks and then they were taken to the airport.
