Fork in The Road

When we reach a fork in the road ahead, we are forced to decide: Which road do I take? As surely as the sun will rise tomorrow, so will the fork in the road appear tomorrow. Often it appears many times in the day.

When faced with this decision, we have two choices; take the right fork, which is remaining on the same road with which we are familiar. And along this, we alternate between happiness and misery at differing times. Or do we take the left fork?. The left fork represents the road less traveled, the road of change and unfamiliarity. The road of the unknown.

At the point of confronting the fork and facing a decision, how do we decide? For the most part, we rely on our minds to make our decision. The mind, of course, has a voice. That voice is called ‘the ego.’ The ego is the voice of our bodyguard, protecting us from natural dangers, perceived failures, and potential embarrassments.

Wait, there’s more. There is within each of us another voice. The voice of God-Within-Me. This voice is always speaking. It is the voice of a true lifeguard, protecting both body and soul from any form of harm. It does not protect us from potential failures or embarrassments because it does not speak that language. Unlike the voice of the ego, G-W-M offers guidance, training, encouragement, and above all – never failing trustworthy friendship, available 24/7.

The voice of G-W-M is authentic; the voice of the ego is a bot manufactured by people and events outside you over your lifetime.

I have one life and one body in which to live this life. So I will live this life to the full, never defining myself by others and events outside of me. I will care for my life and my body. This I will do by acting on the voice of God-Within-Me.

Lifespan-Wisdom Snippets From Peter.

Lifespan

Featured Photo by Immo Wegmann upsplash.com

It is said that our lifespan is, “Four scores and ten.” This does sound like a long time, but it passes quickly for those of us that set about enjoying every moment of our lifespan.

I used to spend ages on the internet searching for ways to find more time to complete all my daily tasks. However, I did this until I learned; I can never ‘find’ time because time is an illusion. On the other hand, I am able to make space in my waking moments to accomplish a particular task, yes, but looking for time is a lost cause.

To enjoy that which I have at present is a wise state because it leads to a peaceful existence for me. However, at no extra cost, I can dream that more and much better is up ahead. This is the cherry on the top.

My Grandmother used to say, “You have to take the bitter with the sweet.” I say, do I really?  How about sweetening the bitter?

I Am Not My thoughts

I am not my body nor my mind (which includes my thoughts). Consider this; at the time of my conception, the process of developing my body and mind began. Even more than this there was a third constituent to this precious package, my spirit. My spirit is my built-in capacity to communicate with a world in myself. A world that does not operate in the realm of the senses. More than this, my spirit, unlike my body and mind is untouchable. My spirit remains unaffected by the events in my life, whatever they were. As it was in conception, my spirit’s state remains the same at my point of death. You have heard of the expression, ‘the authentic me.’ This is the authentic me; my untouched spirit, the person I really am.

Peter’s Quote for The Day-Just Be Me.

Me

Being Me is Enough

I am authentic in my secret self, which is not necessarily the person I project to the world outside; although, I dearly wish it was. I am my own person, I do not match myself with others. I prefer to match myself with the Genius within. For my own comfort and enjoyment, I need to walk to my own drumbeat. I was uniquely created, why should I imitate the behavior of others? My behavior is infinitely more rewarding. I read once, “Comparison is odious.” I agree with this statement; however, if others want to match themselves with me, that’s OK. This has helped me to accept the behavior of others toward me, whatever it might be. It’s interesting to see, very often my acceptance of their treatment gives them relief.

Peter’s Quote for The Day – Happiness

Happiness

Feature Photo by Artem Beliaikin Upsplash.com

I struggled to find happiness until I found me – this proved to be the better find and, guess what? – happiness appeared. How did I find myself? I was told that inside of me I have an authentic person. This person came with the package my Mother received at my conception. It has been unsullied by anything outside of its spiritual form. No events in my life have been able to touch its purity. Nothing can be added to it or taken away from it. It’s the original me. Everything else about my mind and body was touched by the events throughout my life. Many things were added to them and just as many taken away, which resulted in my fruitless search for the elusive state of ‘happiness.’ Thankfully finding me was a treasure, which I have come to love.
